Three kinds of credit card machine

Most small businesses fit one of these. We help you match the terminal to the way you actually take payment.

Countertop terminals

The classic credit card machine. It sits by the register, plugs in, and connects over your internet or phone line. Reliable and simple for a fixed checkout in a shop, salon, or office.

Wireless terminals

A handheld terminal that runs on Wi-Fi or cellular so you can take payment at the table, in the aisle, at the truck, or on the job. Made for restaurants, services, and businesses that move.

Smart terminals

A touchscreen machine that does more than take cards. Add items, track staff, print or email receipts, and see reporting, with apps that grow as your business does.

Interac, chip, tap, and digital wallets on every machine

However your customer pays, the terminal is ready for it.

Interac, chip, and swipe

Take Interac debit, insert the chip card, or swipe the stripe. Standard, secure, and accepted everywhere your customers carry a card.

Tap and contactless

Customers tap a contactless card or Interac Flash and go. Faster lines, fewer touches, and the experience people now expect.

Digital wallets

Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other phone and watch wallets work right out of the box. No extra hardware to add.

Interac priced right

We price Interac like Interac.

A lot of debit volume in Canada runs on Interac, and Interac isn’t a credit card. We make sure your terminal accepts Interac and that we price Interac like Interac, not at a credit-card rate. On a debit-heavy business that difference adds up fast.

Tell us how your customers pay and we’ll set the terminal up so Interac, credit, and digital wallets are each priced honestly across every machine.

Rent, never lease

We rent terminals month to month. We never lease them.

A lease is usually a separate contract from your processing. That is how a seller can say there is no contract, then hand you an equipment lease with liquidated damages that runs four, five or six years, for a terminal that is out of date long before it ends. Those leases can cost thousands.

An AllProPay rental stays month to month. We keep the terminal working, replace it when it needs replacing, and move you to newer models as they come out. The monthly price is typically lower than a lease payment, and if something happens to your business you are not on the hook for years of payments.

Lease vs month-to-month rental: no contract for processing? Check the lease. Left: a terminal lease drawn as a grid of monthly stickers, one per month, locked inside a contract frame with a padlock labeled separate contract, often 4 to 6 years. Cancelling means liquidated damages. At the end of the lease the terminal is faded and marked obsolete, and the total can reach thousands. Right, the focal panel: an AllProPay month-to-month rental. Monthly stickers with no lock, the next one only if you stay, cancel any month, typically a lower monthly price, and a swap arrow from a worn terminal to a newer model because AllProPay keeps it working and replaces it. If something happens to the business, you are not on the hook for thousands. Illustration, not a quote. LEASE VS MONTH-TO-MONTH RENTAL No contract for processing? Check the lease. Common questions

What is the best credit card machine for a small business?
It depends on how you sell. A quiet counter does well with a simple countertop terminal. A restaurant or a business that takes payment at the table or on the road needs a wireless terminal. A shop that also wants items, staff, and reporting may prefer a smart terminal. We don’t just hand you a box. We look at how you take payment and help you pick the machine that fits, and make sure it accepts Interac.
Should I lease or buy a credit card terminal?
Neither has to be a lease. AllProPay rents terminals month to month: no multi-year equipment contract, we keep the terminal working and replace it when needed, and you move to newer models over time. A lease is usually a separate contract from your processing, often four to six years with liquidated damages if you leave early, and it can cost thousands for a terminal that goes out of date. Whatever you are offered, read the equipment paperwork on its own.
Do your terminals accept Interac, tap, chip, and digital wallets?
Yes. Our terminals accept Interac debit, chip cards, contactless tap, swipe, and digital wallets like Apple Pay and Google Pay. We also price Interac like Interac, not at a credit-card rate.

Not sure which machine fits?

Send us your current processing statement and we’ll show you what you’re paying now, recommend the right terminal, and put it next to honest pricing, with Interac priced like Interac. No pressure, no lease.
