What Quebec requires
To fight unreported sales, Revenu Quebec requires certain businesses to record every sale through a sales recording module and give the customer a compliant receipt. Two terms you’ll hear:
- MEV (module d'enregistrement des ventes), or SRM in English. The original sales recording module: a device that connects to your point of sale and records each transaction.
- WEB-SRM. Revenu Quebec’s newer, cloud-based sales recording system. It works with certified point-of-sale software, so newer setups generally use WEB-SRM through a compliant point of sale rather than a separate box.
Who this applies to
- Mandatory billing started with restaurants and has been extended to other sectors over time, such as bars.
- If you sell prepared meals or drinks, you very likely have an obligation.
- Rules change and expand. Confirm your situation with Revenu Quebec or your accountant.

Why it matters for your payments setup
Sales recording and payments live in the same place: your point of sale. Set them up separately, or with someone who doesn’t handle both, and you get double work, mismatched totals, and headaches at tax time.
We set up your payments, your Interac, and a compliant point of sale together, so the system records sales correctly and takes payment cleanly. You still get transparent pricing, no contracts, and a real person to call.
How AllProPay helps
- We help you choose and set up a point of sale that meets Quebec's mandatory billing requirements, with payments and Interac built in.
- We make sure Interac is priced like Interac, not at a credit-card rate, so you aren’t overpaying on your debit sales.
- We handle it in English or French, from Pointe-Claire.
- We don’t provide legal or tax advice. We confirm the setup details with you, and you confirm your obligation with Revenu Quebec.
