From Portland and Salem to Eugene, Bend and Medford, Oregon has no sales tax and, since January 2026, a strict rule for prices shown online. We show you exactly what you pay and set up your online checkout correctly. No contracts, no cancellation fees.
Under SB 430 (ORS 646.608(1)(bbbb)), anyone selling goods or services online in Oregon must show a price that includes every fee the buyer must pay to complete the purchase. Government taxes and fees, actual reasonable shipping or delivery costs, and distance- or selection-based service fees that are clearly disclosed before payment are excepted. In-store pricing is not covered.
Oregon has no general state sales tax, so a credit card surcharge is not subject to state sales tax. Some local taxes, such as city meals or lodging taxes, were outside our research, so check those where they apply.
Oregon has no surcharge law of its own, so the card-brand rules apply. Oregon allows no tip credit at all, and tips belong to the employee. No Oregon rule speaks to card fees on tips specifically, so the federal proportional rule is the baseline.
We set up online checkout so the price shown includes every required fee, and in-store pricing the way you choose: Dual Pricing, a surcharge within the card-brand rules, or transparent interchange-plus pricing.
Check any state in our surcharge checker. Rules change, so we confirm the current position before configuring anything. This is general information, not legal advice.
Send one recent statement for a free statement review. We find your true effective rate, name every fee, and show where it can come down. Savings are estimates based on your own statement.
