The fees you’ll see, and what they mean. Search the full glossary →

Effective rate
The real percentage you pay on every dollar you process, once every fee is counted. The single most useful number on your bill, and the one processors least like to show.
PCI compliance / non-compliance fee
A fee tied to data-security compliance. Once your account is validated correctly, the non-compliance charge is often avoidable.
Tiered pricing and non-qualified downgrades
A model where transactions are sorted into "qualified," "mid," and "non-qualified" buckets. The advertised rate is the cheap bucket; most transactions quietly land in the expensive ones.
Batch, statement, and gateway fees
Small recurring charges for settling transactions, producing a statement, and routing online payments. Each is minor, but together they add up and rarely get explained.
Early-termination / cancellation fee
A penalty for leaving before a contract ends. We don’t use long-term contracts or cancellation fees.
