Terminal basics: batching, deposits, and quick fixes.

Most terminal problems are fixed in two minutes. Most missing deposits come down to one thing: the day didn’t batch.

Batching, in one paragraph

Batching closes out the day and sends your sales in for payment. Many terminals batch on their own at a set time. Some need you to do it. Sales that never batch are never paid. If you aren’t sure which kind you have, ask us once and we’ll set it up the way you want.

Where is my deposit?

Deposits usually land one to two business days after the batch. Weekends and bank holidays add time. Before you call, check three things:

  1. Did that day batch? Your terminal can show the last batch.
  2. Was there a weekend or a bank holiday in between?
  3. Did your bank details change recently?

Still missing? Call us with the date and the amount you expected. We trace it with the processor.

Quick fixes before you call

  • Restart it. Power it off fully, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on.
  • Check the connection. Wi-Fi, the network cable, or the cellular signal, depending on your device.
  • Check the paper. Most receipt rolls only print on one side. The paper door usually shows which way it goes.
  • Write down what the screen says. The exact message saves time on the call.

Reprinting a receipt

Most terminals have a reprint or last-receipt option in the menu. Models differ, so call and we’ll walk you through yours.

One safety rule

Never let anyone service or swap your terminal because they showed up or called saying they’re from the processor. Call us first. Swapped terminals are a common way card data gets stolen.
