Where AllProPay fits better

A flat rate charges the same high price on a cheap debit card and a premium rewards card alike, so an in-person or growing business often overpays, and you can’t see the difference. Square also raised its online rate in 2026. AllProPay offers Dual Pricing, interchange-plus, or AllPro Rebate, whichever fits your business, puts the real cost in front of you, gives you a person to call, and helps you switch without downtime.

One $100 debit tap, two receipts: $2.75 with Square's flat rate vs $0.77 with AllProPay interchange-plus Two receipts for the same $100 debit card tap, headed by the comparison $2.75 vs $0.77. Square's published in-person flat rate of 2.6% plus 15 cents gives a $2.75 processing fee, the same fee a premium rewards card would pay. The AllProPay receipt lists the sale of $100.00, debit, tapped; the card cost for a big-bank debit card, $0.27; our markup at an example 0.50%, $0.50; and a fee on this sale of $0.77. Example: a debit card from a large bank, where the Federal Reserve caps the card cost at 21 cents plus 0.05% plus 1 cent. Cards from smaller banks cost more. Your markup is on your proposal. SAME FEE, ANY CARD Debit costs less to accept A flat rate charges the same price on a cheap debit card as on a premium rewards card, so you cannot see what you actually pay. Common questions

Is AllProPay cheaper than Square?
Yes. With Dual Pricing, customers who choose to pay by card cover the card fee, so your card processing fees drop to $0. Square charges 2.6% + 15 cents on every in-person card sale, more than $130 a month on $5,000 in card sales, and the same price on a cheap debit card as on a premium rewards card, so you can’t see what you actually pay. If you would rather keep one price for everyone, interchange-plus shows you each card’s real cost plus a markup you can see. Square publishes its rates, so you don’t need to send a statement: tell us your monthly card volume and average sale, or send a sales report from your Square dashboard, and we’ll show you the difference on your own numbers.
Did Square raise its rates?
Square raised its online rate in early 2026 to 3.3% + 30 cents on the free plan. In person is 2.6% + 15 cents and keyed is 3.5% + 15 cents. Paid plans at $49 or $149 per month can lower some rates. Pricing changes often, so verify current rates on Square's site.
Do AllProPay or Square lock you into a contract?
Neither uses a long-term contract or a cancellation fee. The difference is transparency and support: AllProPay shows every fee and what it’s for, and gives you a real person to call, while Square is built mainly for self-serve and very small or brand-new businesses.
